From childhood, she enjoyed doodling with natural mineral pigments, developed a keen sensitivity to color, and delighted in copying Dunhuang murals. She also excelled in hard-brush calligraphy, winning first place in provincial competitions. Later influenced by her hometown's Guanyin culture, she converted to Buddhism at Puzhao Zen Temple, dedicating herself to spiritual practice. She earns her living by painting Guanyin images with deep devotion. Her techniques were personally taught by masters like Wang Xi (a student of Zeng Mi). She also traveled to Beijing to specialize in the brushwork of the Northern Landscape Painting School. She excels particularly in mixed-media painting using mineral pigments and is also skilled in meticulous brushwork.
